Daniel Pink says

Daniel Pink is on my mind because I just started reading his newest book Drive: the surprising truth about what motivates us. Here are his 7 rules of writing (for himself) - from his blog.

Reading my friend's recent blog post reminded me to set writing goals, especially for extended vacations. But the truth is that I want to write every day (just maybe not 500 words like Dan Pink).

I just started reading "Drive" and am really looking forward to it. I'm hoping to understand not just my own motivation, but how to get students motivated, too.

Thanks for the link to his blog. He's totally right about how you need to just "show up and write". I've got to discipline myself to do that more.

Hi Angela! Thanks for visiting and commenting. I finished Drive about a week ago - should write update post. I really agree with most of Pink's points, but I disagree with his assertion that reading rewards are bad.
