Sights from our tour of Boone Hall Plantation in Mount Pleasant, SC. Really interesting tour!

I knew where this was at from the very first picture! My parents took me during a family vacation (drove from MD to FL, and my history buff father insisted on stopping here!) It made such a huge impression on me--so beautiful, but incredibly sad. That trip sparked what has become a lifelong interest in studying and understanding slavery and segregation. I hope it does the same for your students!

Have you read the "If you lived in the days of slavery..." book or any in that series? My students were fascinated with it! Very well-written and kid-friendly.
